T.M.LEWIN: Infinity Suit

You know that feeling you get after 8 hours of work where you cannot wait to change out of your clothes and into a fresh set? What a nightmare! Well let me introduce to you T.M.Lewin’s new Infinity suit.

It’s in the name- with this suit you will remain to feel as fresh at the end of the night as you did when you first put the suit on at dawn, infinite times. The suit has an open weave which will absorb water to constantly keep you cool and the crease proof material will leave you worry free for the entire day regardless of whichever activity you partake in!

The suit comes in a Normal and Slim-fit size and in the colours Navy and Charcoal; Pair the suit with one of T.M.Lewin’s Non-Iron shirts and definitely look as good as you feel!

Navy Infinity Suit
The model Chase Armitage is a parkour and free run professional and recent guest at the Cannes Film Festival for his short film ‘Free Inspiration’. Chase was the perfect model for the Infinity suit because who else could do a free run over London to prove its everlasting refreshing capabilities.

3 States in 4 Days: New York

So I’m planning on doing this short series about my holiday this summer covering 3 states: New York, Massachusetts and Washington. The purpose of this is to in a way create a diary of memories for me but also to create a small city guide for you guys based on my experiences.

I'll be covering New York city today which took place over two days to go round because the amount of walking, crowds (and time it took to take good pictures) made it impossible to tour some of the must see landmarks in just one day.

The first place we went to see in New York was the Freedom Tower aka One World Trade Center. The construction of the tower was completed in July 2013 and exceeded the height of the Empire State building which was previously the tallest in New York; Now the One World Trade Centre, at a height of 541m, is not only the tallest in New York, but also the 6th tallest in the world!

The observatory with a 360° glass window on the top floor of the building lets you view the city for as far as your eyes can see (considering the weather is good). It was truly amazing to be able to see one of the world’s busiest cities from such a height and it’s perfect for sightseeing without having to visit every street.

Next on the list was Statue of Liberty. Since the statue is on an island of its own we had to get a cruise from New Jersey (where we were staying anyway) to another small tourist island called Ellis Island which then takes you to the Liberty Island. The cruise travel is included in the money you pay for the tickets to see the Statue itself and the journey in total one way takes less than an hour which gives you plenty of time to take pictures of the city skyline.

Once you get to Liberty Island you can go up to the top (not completely the top though) of the statue and also visiting the museum that tells you the entire history of it. If you want to get proper pictures of the statue make sure you do it on the cruise, on the Island there’s always too many trees and people in the way and you’re too close to the statue to get a full picture.

Another place for a good skyline view is Brooklyn Bridge. One of the oldest suspension bridges in America, it connects Brooklyn to Manhattan. I didn’t get a chance to walk along it because as soon as we got there the thunderstorm of the summer made an appearance; so we decided not to get drenched and risk getting hit by lightening and went home instead.

The one place that have have to see (preferably at night time) if you visit New York if you want to understand why they call it the city that never sleeps. The screens were as big as and as bright as you’d expect them to be based on whatever you’ve seen in movies and pictures yet seeing it in real life feels so indescribably much different. I was there at 1 in the morning and there was still so much light and a notable amount of people which was probably the best thing about it.

So this was New York city! Obviously there is so much more to the city that I wasn't able to visit this time because of time but you can let me know of your experiences there.

Tips for a smoother,speedier morning!

Let's be honest, we're all a victim of late nights and even later mornings, whether it's due to last minute assignments or a simple phone addiction. I,myself, find mornings very stressful when I snooze the alarm one,or five, times too many; but over the last few years I've have learnt a few tricks that help my mornings run a little bit smoother, and still let me stay in bed a little longer!

1) Night time showers
My biggest tip is to take your shower before you go to bed, it saves so much time in the morning and it feels like such a huge thing to tick off your getting-ready list. Plus I think you get so much dirtier throughout the day compared to during the night, so why not go to bed with feeling fresh and clean?

 2) Planning, planning and plans.
If you've left school then chances are you will no longer have a daily uniform; even though wearing clothes that you yourself chose seems like a dream, it's really not. Trying to assemble a presentable outfit every morning on the spot is not easy especially when your room is an absolute tip. So I always try to plan my outfit the night before, this means I would either just think about it my head or if I'm feeling extra productive I would even get my clothes out and ready so I can just jump into them in the morning.

 3) Tidy
Leading on from talking about my absolute tip of a room, my next tip is keeping you bedroom, or even house, tidy. This doesn't have to mean there isn't a single visible speck of dust, it just means you need to know where your last pair of clean socks are. Once you keep the essential items in order and make a routine of picking them up and putting them away in the same please you'll find it you spend less time finding "lost" items (basically keys wont ever be found under the sofa again).

4) On-the-go breakfast
Cooking and eating a good breakfast is probably the most time consuming thing of the morning which is why most people skip it. For this reason, many alternatives have been created so you aren't required to slave away in the kitchen the first thing in the morning, racing against time. Options ranging from breakfast bars to smoothies they all contain the same amount of nutrition but only save you time! Win-win.

Let me know what you thought and if you have any additional tips or not!

Post June!

So another month is yet again done and dusted. How is it already July? Where has half the year gone? Anyway, it's time to round up all the interesting and significant things that occurred in my life in June. Not a very exciting month but I got a few things done!

  • Finally finished all my exams after a very painful, but speedy year 12, kind of like pulling off a plaster. Though I'm glad to be progressing further into my life and cannot wait to get onto the bigger, better things, the thoughts about growing up are still daunting!

  • After feeling serious withdrawal symptoms from finishing Pretty Little Liars I decided to start watching The Vampire Diaries. It was slightly dragged out I felt like, especially seasons 4 and 5 where the plot just went in circles but it did get interesting by season 6! And now, do not get me started on season 7… Definitely would recommend!

  • Started and finished the world’s smallest book, Diary of an Oxygen Thief. I’ve been wanting to read it for such a long time, especially after seeing it being hyped about on Tumblr multiple times. The book is so unusual and intriguing, I loved every page of it and I’ve actually just decided to do a full book review on it as a separate blog post next week! As well as that book, I also started reading Stephan Hawking's book Theory of everything. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you have the slightest interest in physics or any other science you should give it a go.

  • Went to London in particular South Bank, the other weekend, thanks to my brother. It was such a refreshing feeling to roam a big, busy city after feeling like I was constantly being restricted to the small town I live in. The most interesting thing about London is probably the vast mixture of cultures that all come together to create one big community. (I’ll probably write a post on this too…)

  • I’ve recently rediscovered a YouTube channel called Reload Sessions. They pull together various, less well known artists from all over and get to them to cover a song and then put it up. Most of the covers are acoustics and just an absolute pleasure to listen to and calm you down. My favorites are this Jhené Aiko cover, this Frank Ocean cover and this Tove Lo cover.

Let me know how your June went and what you are looking forward to most in July!

3 Work to Fun outfits for Men and Women with T.M.Lewin

T.M.Lewin recently got in touch with me and asked to collaborate on a post for you. They are a traditional British company that were founded in 1898. T.M.Lewin mainly specialize in menswear with a lovely suit collection but do also have a great womenswear collection as you'll see in the post!

You know that Friday feeling we all get from time to time where all you want to do is finish work at 5 o'clock on the dot and then immediately go out for a well deserved break, whether this be a meal at a fancy restaurant or a friend's party. Either way, the last thing you want to do is go home to get changed but end up getting caught up in the rush hour traffic. So today I have come up with three versatile outfits for men and women to wear to both work and wherever you choose to go after work!

This first one is a men's casual jacket from T.M.Lewin which I think would work really well a simple white shirt and a maroon tie to give it the sophisticated office look. Then to dress it down a little bit for the evening I'd suggested maybe rolled sleeves and no tie!

Next for women, are these simple black trousers that would go really well with this shirt. The geometric print on the shirt gives it a laid back look but then the high waisted trousers suggest you mean business especially paired with heels like the model has done!

If the weather is not so great then this blue Mac coat is perfect! It won't boil you to death but will definitely make sure you remain warm and dry. It has a casual and formal feel to it and it's navy blue colour makes it versatile to pair with pretty much anything. I particularly like these gridded skinny trousers. The fitted style of the coat and trousers gives the outfit a relaxed look but if worn with smart shoes like these ones you could use this for daytime office wear! If you want an alternative to the coat though then this Kensington Blue Italian Wool suit is great to help you adapt to any occasion.

So hopefully now you won't be too stuck for outfit ideas when it comes to Friday evening! Don't forget to let me know what you thought of them :)
