Post June!

So another month is yet again done and dusted. How is it already July? Where has half the year gone? Anyway, it's time to round up all the interesting and significant things that occurred in my life in June. Not a very exciting month but I got a few things done!

  • Finally finished all my exams after a very painful, but speedy year 12, kind of like pulling off a plaster. Though I'm glad to be progressing further into my life and cannot wait to get onto the bigger, better things, the thoughts about growing up are still daunting!

  • After feeling serious withdrawal symptoms from finishing Pretty Little Liars I decided to start watching The Vampire Diaries. It was slightly dragged out I felt like, especially seasons 4 and 5 where the plot just went in circles but it did get interesting by season 6! And now, do not get me started on season 7… Definitely would recommend!

  • Started and finished the world’s smallest book, Diary of an Oxygen Thief. I’ve been wanting to read it for such a long time, especially after seeing it being hyped about on Tumblr multiple times. The book is so unusual and intriguing, I loved every page of it and I’ve actually just decided to do a full book review on it as a separate blog post next week! As well as that book, I also started reading Stephan Hawking's book Theory of everything. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but if you have the slightest interest in physics or any other science you should give it a go.

  • Went to London in particular South Bank, the other weekend, thanks to my brother. It was such a refreshing feeling to roam a big, busy city after feeling like I was constantly being restricted to the small town I live in. The most interesting thing about London is probably the vast mixture of cultures that all come together to create one big community. (I’ll probably write a post on this too…)

  • I’ve recently rediscovered a YouTube channel called Reload Sessions. They pull together various, less well known artists from all over and get to them to cover a song and then put it up. Most of the covers are acoustics and just an absolute pleasure to listen to and calm you down. My favorites are this Jhené Aiko cover, this Frank Ocean cover and this Tove Lo cover.

Let me know how your June went and what you are looking forward to most in July!

3 Work to Fun outfits for Men and Women with T.M.Lewin

T.M.Lewin recently got in touch with me and asked to collaborate on a post for you. They are a traditional British company that were founded in 1898. T.M.Lewin mainly specialize in menswear with a lovely suit collection but do also have a great womenswear collection as you'll see in the post!

You know that Friday feeling we all get from time to time where all you want to do is finish work at 5 o'clock on the dot and then immediately go out for a well deserved break, whether this be a meal at a fancy restaurant or a friend's party. Either way, the last thing you want to do is go home to get changed but end up getting caught up in the rush hour traffic. So today I have come up with three versatile outfits for men and women to wear to both work and wherever you choose to go after work!

This first one is a men's casual jacket from T.M.Lewin which I think would work really well a simple white shirt and a maroon tie to give it the sophisticated office look. Then to dress it down a little bit for the evening I'd suggested maybe rolled sleeves and no tie!

Next for women, are these simple black trousers that would go really well with this shirt. The geometric print on the shirt gives it a laid back look but then the high waisted trousers suggest you mean business especially paired with heels like the model has done!

If the weather is not so great then this blue Mac coat is perfect! It won't boil you to death but will definitely make sure you remain warm and dry. It has a casual and formal feel to it and it's navy blue colour makes it versatile to pair with pretty much anything. I particularly like these gridded skinny trousers. The fitted style of the coat and trousers gives the outfit a relaxed look but if worn with smart shoes like these ones you could use this for daytime office wear! If you want an alternative to the coat though then this Kensington Blue Italian Wool suit is great to help you adapt to any occasion.

So hopefully now you won't be too stuck for outfit ideas when it comes to Friday evening! Don't forget to let me know what you thought of them :)

Summer picks:Dresses and Playsuits

Since summer is finally here and all the cute clothes come out at this time of the year I thought I'd do a compilation of some of my favorites. I was originally meant to do only one post on this but well, i started shopping and couldn't stop; So now here is the first part talking about dresses and playsuits and the second part with shoes and other bits will be up later!

This first white dress is loose fitted but not quote flowy with minimal paisley patterns on it. It would be so easy to style with silver plated jewellery and really give off a festival vibe with a couple of rings. To give it a more formal look for evening dinners just add a small black clutch bag and you're good to go!

X

I love the crochet detailing on the top and the keyhole front secured by a tassel tie but my favorite part of this dress is definitely the cutout shoulders . This is definitely a daytime dress and the flared and flowy sleeves give a soft summery feel.
X

This smock dress is probably my favorite out of all the others! The two different directions of the stripes give it a two piece look and the squared collar give it a formal feel. It can definitely be worn as a casual dress too though, and pairing it with a delicate bracelet would complete the look
X

These next two items are playsuits, the first is blue and white with large paisley drawings on it (you've probably recognized the reoccurring theme of paisley by now...). It also has off the shoulder sleeves and an elasticated waist which is great because it gives you more of a shape. The second playsuit the most adorable thing I have ever seen! I am in love with the embroidered sleeve and the faint heart collar shape. You can add a belt to give the playsuit a shape but you can obviously wear it without the belt too. Both playsuits would look great with ivory lace up shoes like the ones below!

So that is it for my top summer dress/playsuit picks! I will do another one or two posts with different items(definitely one for shoes)! Let me know what you think :)

Liebster Award!

So recently I was nominated for this award (thanks to Katie) and I am so delighted! "Leibster" is a German word which means dearest, sweetest, and kind. This award has been going around for a very long time in the blogging world and I have finally become a part of it!

Liebster Award Rules:

  1.  Thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  2.  Copy and paste the Liebster Award badge to your post.
  3.  Nominate other bloggers who have less than 200 followers.
  4.  Answer the 10 questions the person who nominated you asked you.
  5.  Create 10 new questions to ask the bloggers you nominate.
  6.  Notify the bloggers you have nominated by leaving them a comment on their blog.

My 10 Questions to Answer

1.      Why did you start blogging? I loved reading other people's blogs and seeing what they had to share. This made me want to create my own little space where I could share my life!

2.      What is your favorite hobby (besides blogging)?Does sleeping count? Probably not... Aside from blogging and sleeping I really love watching Netflix and dancing, not at the same time though! Reading is also a really big hobby of mine even though i don't get much time to do it anymore :(

3.      What is your favorite shop (high street or online)? On the high street probably primark! I'd rather buy more clothes for less money than less clothes for more money. Online probably ASOS because of how extensive their range of items is.

4.      What is your favorite blog and why? Ahhh this is a tough one, there are so many great ones out there! I think one of my favorites is peexo. I just love her sense of style and her shoe collection is goals.

5.      3 things you can’t live without? Firstly my family and friends, soppy I know but it's true for all of us. Secondly, a good water supply, to drink from and to shower with. I hate not being able to keep up my personally hygiene and I also hate the feeling of a dry mouth. Also,I want to say my phone but my phone would be basically useless if I had no internet, so my third thing would be the internet!

6.      If you could travel to the past or future which would you chose?I think I would travel to the past to make some small tweaks, there’s no point of traveling to the future when time will take you there anyway.

7.      Who or what inspires you most? The idea of making a change and having a happy and successful future inspires me to do well in school!

8.      What’s your favorite and least favorite thing about blogging? My favorite thing is the community and the people you meet through it. My least favorite thing is feeling guilty when I haven’t been consistent with uploading, but that’s my own fault anyway.

9.      Do you have a YouTube Channel? And if not, have your ever considered it? (I’m nosey.. :P) No I don’t have a YouTube channel, I have considered it though. Maybe sometime in the future when I have more confidence!

1.  What has blogging taught you? Blogging has definitely taught me that there is so much to achieve and there are so many different types of people with different types of interests

Top Apps and Games!

Hey! Today I wanted to share a few of my favorite apps and games. They are all free from the Google Play store or the App store and I've left the link!

1)Forest
Whenever I get sidetracked by Instagram or YouTube all I have to do this activate this app. You choose how long you want to stay focused and off your phone for and it shows an animation of a growing tree during that time limit, and at the end of the time period if you've stayed off your phone you would have successfully planted a tree in the imaginary garden. It shows you a daily, weekly and monthly record of how much time you've spent off your phone and focused on work which is really motivating!

2)Bloglovin
I love this app because it shows all my favorite bloggers and their blog posts in one app.Its like a bloggers newspaper, perfect to scroll through during breakfast or tube journeys.

3)Runtastic
So to follow my new year's resolutions I got this app to track my running. It shows your run on a map with the time, miles and calories burnt and also let's you play music in the background. These basic features are free but if you buy the membership it gives you workout plans too!

4)Quiz up
The clue is in the name! Quiz up presents you with a seven question quiz on any topic you want, topics range from "Gossip girl" to "General Knowledge". You can play against your friends or someone random.Since it's a competition it makes it so much more fun and addictive.

5)Pinterest
Pinterest is the library of ideas. You can find so much inspiration for just about anything on there, DIY's, room decoration, quotes, you name it! It's also great for bloggers because you can post your blogposts on there.

6)Little Alchemy
This is a fun and addictive way to pass time anywhere. At the start of the game you get given 4 elements: Earth,Fire,Air and Water. From these 4 you just keep randomly mixing to create 550 other things, you can make new elements that range from Life to Tobacco! It really doesn't require much thought but the curiosity of what you're going to make next just keeps you coming back to it.

So those were a few of my favorite apps that I recommend you try out. Let me know what yours are!

Guest Post: Top 10 Under £10

Hey guys, its Phoebida. We're doing a guest post here today, which is so exciting! If you don't know us, we are Phoebe and Abida - two best friends who share a blog. Today we'll be sharing with you our top ten under £10 products! We are going to split it and talk about five each.

Phoebe:

MAKEUP REVOLUTION EYESHADOW PALETTE - ICONIC 3 - £4
This is the most gorgeous palette, made up of different pink toned hues. It was designed as a dupe for the Naked 3 palette, and as this little bargain palette is only £4, it is definitely comparable to Urban Decay.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION ULTRA SCULPT & CONTOUR KIT - ULTRA FAIR C01 - £3.50
I was gifted this by my friend for Christmas, and haven't stopped using it since! I personally am in love with the bronzer and highlight, I haven't used the blush much but it is just as pigmented. The bronzer isn't orange at all and the highlight gives the perfect glow!

MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO - CREAMY BEIGE - £5
I have a couple of Maybelline cream eyeshadows but the shade Creamy Beige is my favourite. It is a basic matte cool toned brown shade which is a great base for a smokey eye, or just a wash of colour. It stays put all day too!

L'ORÉAL COLOR RICHE EXCLUSIVE LIPSTICK - JULIANNE'S NUDE - £7.99
This is more of a spring/summer lipstick but I had to feature it! This shade is a wearable peachy pink with a gorgeous sheen to it. I wore it for the whole of last summer and will probably next summer too!

RIMMEL KATE MOSS LIPSTICK - 08 - £5.49
Last but definitely not least, is this beautiful mauve lipstick. In the swatch it doesn't come off as mauve, more brown, but in real life it is a dusky mauve. The quality of this lipstick is phenonemal for such a great price!

Abida:

MAYBELLINE FIT ME FOUNDATION - 220 - £7.99
For the price, this is an amazing foundation! It gives you a medium coverage with a really nice fresh look. It isn't dewy but it isn't completely matte either!

MAYBELLINE DREAM FRESH BB CREAM - LIGHT MEDIUM - £7.99
This BB cream gives you a natural glow and a fresh looking face. It hydrates your skin, has SPF 30 and is oil free! It is quite a sheer coverage but compliments your skin tone so nicely.

L'ORÉAL INFALLIBLE FIXING MIST - £7.99
This setting spray really helps make your makeup stay on all day. It smells so good too! The texture is micro-fine so it doesn't show up cakey on your skin too.

RIMMEL KATE MOSS LIPSTICK- 107 - £5.49
This is a deep wine colour. It is a matte lipstick but is so comfortable to wear! Also, it smells absolutely divine. 107 is like an intense velvet colour. It is such a popular, raved about lipstick and I can totally see why!

MAKEUP REVOLUTION AMAZING LIPSTICK - REBEL WITH A CAUSE - £1
Now onto the last product, this lipstick is a vampy purple shade with a slight pink undertone. It is creamy, long lasting, and only one pound!! It is such a bargain.

That was our top 10 under £10! We hope you enjoyed this post and thank you so much Khevana for having us :)

Happy New Year: 2016

So 2015 is finally over and 2016 is upon us. And let's be honest, no-one starts a new year without promising themselves they're going to change at least one thing. But I think we've all realised that the pledges you make don't really last much longer than 4 weeks...6 weeks at a (very motivated) push. And yet each year, without fail, people talk, tweet, write Facebook status' or a blog post about their "new year, new me" mindset, and I am one of those :)

So here's 6 things I'd like to modify:

Stop procrastinating:
This is something that I really really need to improve, with increasing amounts of school work being set everyday I really need to get on with it and leave Instagram alone during my study time.

Be better at updating this blog:
I started this blog at during May last year and only managed to write about 11 posts...that is a disgrace. But lately, I've been feeling more and more passionate about writing blog posts so I want to keep that up and be more (a lot more) consistent with my uploads- which I have been for a couple of weeks so that's a good start!

Not nap after-school:
I have adopted this really bad habit of coming home from school and immediately going hitting the pillow for an hour. This need to stop, it just stops me from focusing on what I should be doing and then messes up my night time sleep pattern.

Eat proper:
I don't mean your typical "sugar-free and fat-free" diet, I just want to eat at regular intervals rather than just having one big meal at the end of the day, which is what I currently do. Sure I'd like to cut down the junk food too, but not completely, I just want to time my snacks and meals.

Exercise regularly:
Now this is something that is probably in everyone's resolution list! I want to get back into exercising regularly, I was really good at it during most of last year but near the end I became very unmotivated. I've always wanted to be able to dance too, so hopefully I'll learn to dance which will also count as a bit of cardio! Win-win

Write down the positives:
I saw this picture on Facebook the other day and it suggested that at the start of the new year, you should write down every achievement or anything that made you happy on a piece of paper and put it in a jar. Then at the end of the year, or whenever you're feeling down, just go through it!
There's the 6 things I want to be able to keep up throughout the year, I didn't choose too many to keep life simple. Maybe I'll do a post at the end of the year to update you on how good (hopefully not bad) I've been!

Let me know what your new year's resolutions are!

Happy new year and thank you for reading!
